The Alabama Taxidermist Association
was established in 1975.
When you join the Alabama Taxidermist Association (ATA) you become a better-informed taxidermist. The ATA is an association built from its membership of business professionals and enthusiasts in the field of taxidermy with a primary focus of unity and education. There are many functions of the ATA including general member meetings, educational seminars and an annual show and competition.
· To promote the highest standards in the art of taxidermy.
· To promote interest in taxidermy through conventions and seminars for the membership and exhibitions for the general public.
· Provide the ATA membership with advice on existing and proposed laws concerning the practice of taxidermy.
The fiscal year is January 1st to December 31, the annual dues have been changed to “Show to Show”; typically the show/competition is in June each year. Dues will now be paid with your registration fee at the show or when you pre-register, the deadline for dues will be June 30 to maintain your member in good standing status.
Members receive a membership card, certificate for display in your shop, quarterly newsletters and an annual report. The ATA also keeps its members up-to-date on state and national policies that are directed at our profession. The ATA is a family of individuals who all have different taxidermy skills, and are ingenious individuals so becoming an active part of this family may benefit you as well as others in ways no one would ever imagine.
If you are a taxidermist, you owe it to yourself, your business, and your clients to become a member of a great educational organization. If you are a beginner, a hobbyist, or even just interested in taxidermy, you will be amazed at how much you can learn from the newsletter, other members, hands on seminars, and the convention/competition. No matter what your level of experience is, you will make life-long friends and become a part of one of the best State taxidermy associations around; you will become part of a great family.
We encourage participation from all members. There are many opportunities throughout the year for members to be active at various levels. Various committees are working on ongoing tasks throughout the year and always looking for assistance when you can lend a hand.
